My Background

I started studying Computer Graphics in College in 1989 and remember early on as Adobe Photoshop was introduced to the world. I studied and practiced graphic design using Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, Aldus Freehand, Adobe Illustrator and Quark X-Press.

I started my career at Moore-Langen Printing Company (now owned by Phoenix Color Corp.)

I started my career at Moore-Langen Printing Company (now owned by Phoenix Color Corp.) in my hometown of Terre Haute, Indiana. They did not have an opening for a graphic designer at the time, so I started in the prepress department as a film assembly technician. Commonly referred to as a Film Stripper back then. I assembled the film images into position to make printing plates for the printing presses.

Over the years I moved through all of the areas of the print shop and had a couple of opportunities to partner with and become a small print shop co-owner as well. I have a true passion for Visual Communications. I love seeing graphics, designing graphics, printing graphics and yes, talking about graphics.

I eventually landed in the Pacific North West where I make my home with my lovely wife DaLynn and our 4 kids Elijah, Alexander, Zachary & Molly.

My Inspiration

My inspiration comes from my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I began my freelance graphic design career with my company called HellaGrafiX. Hella - a slang word meaning “Hell of a lot” and GrafiX, a play on the word Graphics, of course. As my life has changed, my priorities have changed. This change in my life has led to my rebrand. I now freelance as HolyGrafiX. My heart is geared more toward working heartily for the Lord in my endeavors. Building relationships with people and providing graphic design services for my community.
